Does my story draw you in a little. No answers about grammar please but critisim please?

it is very descriptive in terms of appealing to the eye. however a good author refers to all 5 senses. i need to know how your skin felt, the smell, etc... (Oh! and don't just bluntly state it as a tangent sentence.)
